DVR talks eco friendly competition-wear with Equestrian Business Magazine

In this month's issue of Equestrian Business , we had the pleasure of talking to the Magazine about our use of recycled fabric in our competition shirts.

Founder Danielle talks in depth about the making and technical properties of our most used fabric. She also talks about how consumers are becoming more conscious of what they're buying and the journey their product has been on to get to them.

This is an important conversation we are proud to be part of. If you would like any more information on our sustainability efforts you can click here to find out more. If you want to shop our recycled products, click here.

Below we have shared Danielle's extracts from the interview. (Equestrian Business Mag March 2020 Competition Central issue).

'"Ever since launching the brand, I have always used recycled fabric wherever possible. 2019 saw the launch of our first ever competition wear and it was a no-brainer for me to use the same recycled fabric. It is made mainly from recycled fishing nets that are gathered from the ocean and turned into polyamide in Italy. The polyamide is then put together with elastane to create the technical fabric you see in our designs."

"...Not only is the fabric doing something good for the environment, but it is also UV protective (UPF 50+), has muscle control technology - improving circulation in sport, is breathable and temperature regulating, plus it is oil resistant too!"

"Using recycled fabric within our designs has been received incredibly well by our customers. For some, it is the be-all-and-end-all and their main reason to shop with us, to others it is simply a plus - but they come to the brand for the designs, and some wouldn't be fussed either way."

"I used to be concerned about people understanding our pricing reflecting our eco-conscious decisions and manufacturing processes, however, I have learned that, if people care about these factors in the same way that we do, they will understand. Also, the fact that you pay for quality. I put an incredible amount of effort into every design and I want to be able to offer something new, unique and influential, without sacrificing my core values."

"It is a brilliant time we are in, with people becoming more and more eco-conscious and questioning the process behind the products they are buying. From a fashion background, and knowing what a devastating effect the fashion industry has on our environment, I am so pleased that consumers are now being more conscious when they shop."
