HOW WE LEARN ABOUT YOU
What you order tells us about you and the types of things you life.
WHAT WE NEED TO KNOW
We need to know your name and address, simply so that we know where to send your items. We also need your email address, so that we can send you order confirmation and contact you if anything changes with your order, we can then also tailor DVR offers and other news to you. Don't fancy being the first to know about our sale? You can unsubscribe at any time, just email danielle@dvrequestrian.com. We'll start that process straight away, but it might take up to five days to be completed.
We ask for the details of your payment card, when you place your order, and need to know you're over the age of 18. It's only then that you can legally enter a contract or buy something with your own money.
Some information we ask for is optional, for example your phone number. However this is helpful to us as it means we can text or call you about your orders if necessary. This is handy for example, when the courier can't find your address, or there is an issue with your order. And we like to know your date of birth so we can wish you a happy birthday!
ADDITIONAL DATA SOURCES
This applies to you, you can contact us at danielle@dvrequestrian.com at any time and ask us to remove you from our mailing list.
We may also receive information from third parties such as fraud detection agencies when we transact with you, so we can verify that you are actually you.
BASIC FOR PROCESSING YOUR INFORMATION AND HOW WE USE IT
When you shop with us, you're entering a contract and that's one of the bases we use for processing your data. We use your data to help your order run smoothly and also for fraud prevention purposes, to verify you are really a customer shopping for technical equestrian-wear, rather than someone up to no good.
We like to keep you in the loop at DVR so, no and again we'll send you look-books, special offers and promotions by post and email. Under data protection law, it is considered a legitimate business interest for us to use our customers' details for direct marketing, so it is our intention to do so. However, we understand that no everybody wants to receive marketing, so if you do not wish to receive any further email messages from us, please update us with your preferences by emailing us at danielle@dvrequestrian.com
As some promotions may get printed in advance, it can take up to eight weeks for you to unsubscribe; for emails it may take around five working days.
SHARING YOUR INFORMATION WITH OTHERS
We share your name, address, email address and transaction history with data selection agencies, data segmentation and ranking agencies, email marketing agencies and prospect modelling agencies. These organisations help us to analyse our customer base and to identify potential new customers, and to target our marketing in a way that is most relevant for you. In all instances, we provide them with only the information they need to perform their function.
In the unlikely event that our business assets are sold or purchased by another company, our data records will be sold too as part of our business.
Occasionally, we or our selected partners may make use of social media platforms for online advertising purposes.
HOW LONG IS YOUR INFORMATION KEPT
All the while you are shopping with us we will keep your information so that we have your order history. We might also need to keep your information for important legal and audit purposes. COOKIES
Cookies are small text files that websites send to your computer. A cookie can be thought of as an Internet user's identification card. They let the website know when the user has returned. This lets the site bring up information relevant to that user, for example your name, past orders etc.
Cookies make the interaction between users and websites faster and easier. Without cookies, it would be very difficult for a website to allow a visitor to fill up a shopping basket or to remember the user's preferences or registration details for a future visit. The DVR Equestrian Sport website uses cookies to allow customers to move from one part of the website to another and to add items to the shopping basket without having to log in repeatedly.
Cookies are not computer programs, and can't read other information saved on your hard drive. They cannot be used to disseminate viruses, or get a user's email address etc. They only contain and transfer to the website as much information as the users themselves have disclosed to that website. It is possible to opt out of cookies via your browser’s cookie settings, but if you do this you will not be able to shop from the DVR Equestrian Ltd website as the functions of the website are dependent on cookies. Please note that cookies are computer specific, so if you log on to any site from a different computer, the cookie settings on that computer will apply.
When you visit our sites, cookies are either served directly by us, or by our business partners. Here is a description of the different kind of cookies we use.
Essential cookies These cookies allow you to use the basic functionality of our website. For example, browsing our products, ordering and paying for items, checking your account information and viewing your order history.
Performance cookies They allow us to get to know how you use our website. They are used to analyse visitor information such as usage, visitor numbers and help us see how effective our advertising is and to understand what you like. We also use this information to help improve our website, make our marketing more relevant and improve the user experience.
Functionality cookies They allow us to provide additional functionalities to the website, and will retain some settings information. Whilst not essential for the functionality of our site, they do enable extra features that should improve your shopping experience.
Targeting cookies We also use cookies to track visitors' interest in our products. We may use this to understand what most appeals to our customers so we can make our offers as appropriate as possible. Browsing behaviour is also used to create relevant banner advertising with product recommendations that we believe best relate to the items you viewed on our website. These banners are then served across other websites that you may visit, typically news sites, video sites and blogs. This process is called behavioural advertising and although the adverts are individually tailored to each visitor, all cookie data is anonymised and stored temporarily. Additionally, all banners of this type feature an "i" icon that provides more information from each advertising network and instructions on how to opt out. We also use the browsing behaviour data to create personal product recommendations on our website, and our marketing emails.
For further information about managing and disabling cookies on your computer see www.allaboutcookies.org/manage-cookies.
DATA OVER THE INTERNET
We use third-party service providers (Facebook and Google) to serve ads on our behalf across the internet and sometimes on this site. They may collect anonymous information about your visits to our Web site, and your interaction with our products and services. They may also use information about your visits to this and other Web sites to target advertisements for goods and services. This anonymous information is collected through the use of a pixel tag, which is industry standard technology used by most major websites. No personally identifiable information is collected or used in this process. They do not know the name, phone number, address, email address, or any personally identifying information about the user. If you would like more information about this practice and to know your choices about not having this anonymous information used by our third party service provider, please visit our third party service provider’s websites.
