Get to know Ambassador Kyran Tompkins

"Hi! I'm Kyran. I come from quite a horsey background with my grandparents both being riders, my auntie owning a big equestrian centre in Ivybridge, Devon and my cousin formerly competing for Team GB. But I never actually began riding until I was 12 years old.

My original riding discipline was horse and pony racing where I competed in about 40 races; the majority being on my thoroughbred racing pony, Rocky. I then moved to Newmarket aged 16 to John Ferguson's yard 'Bloomfields' where I spent a year.

When I left racing I decided to take 6 months away from horses but found I couldn't stay away. It was then that I decided to change my discipline to show-jumping.

I am now based with international show-jumper Dale Burnham who is now mentoring me to strive for a successful career in the show jumping sphere."
