Meet Wilbur and learn how you can treat yourself and this rescue at the same time...

WILBUR UPDATE
.
Unfortunately poor little Wilbur was too poorly to survive. However, because of his wonderful rescuers he did get to enjoy his last two weeks in a comfortable warm stable being fed four times a day, sleeping on a cosy bed at night and grazing in the day. Vets are undergoing tests to work out what was going on inside and why he unfortunately couldn't survive it, but for the moment it is a mystery as to what was going on that we couldn't see.
.
His rescuers and myself would like to thank you for your support through purchasing the Wilbur beanies. From now on, money from the Wilbur  beanies will still be going to Rainbow Bridge Equine Rescue for their other rescues. These donations are much needed, this rescue is incredibly small and giving, and does it all for the horses and ponies.
.
Why we wanted to help
.
This little pony has a personal connection to me (Danielle - Founder of DVR Equestrian). I met little Wilbur only once last week when he had been rescued and had come to carry on his recovery and start to live a life he would love.  Unfortunately it wasn't long before he took a turn for the worse.
Wilbur is the cutest little (Around 12hh) pony. When I met him he had his little nose stretched up to see over the stable door, he was interested in everyone and lapped up all the love and cuddles he could get. I fell in love with his tiny little ears from the moment I met him and was so excited and happy to know he'd have a life to look foward to and enjoy, I was so looking forward to seeing him enjoying the life he deserved after he had obviously had a very hard life.
.
There are so many animals suffering in this world, and I have always been passionate about being able to help where I could once I had grown the brand. After having a personal connection to this particular rescue, and with the charity looking after him being my local equine rescue, I have decided that this is where I would like to start, and although the brand is still very small, this is a way of us being able to offer our help and support.

About Wilbur
.
Rainbow Bridge Equine Rescue took ownership of this very, very poorly little pony on the last week of October 2018. He went straight to the local vets (Cliffe) where he was put straight into isolation intensive care. The vet bill started around £800, but to continue treatment they needed to find more.
.
His protein levels had been low, and on the 2nd of November they had dropped further, he needed a plasma transfusion. He was brighter after the transfusion, the vet can feel an impaction but because his tummy has had a build up of fluid (which has been removed twice) they are still trying to shift it with IV fluids.
.
He is comfortable and wanting to nibble bits of grass that the staff have picked him. The latest update was that he still has the impaction and is still on pain relief, but he is still hungry, eating grass and looking alert.
.
He still needs ongoing support, and this is why we decided a product in his name could be a great way of encouraging people to donate. Whether you are picking up a cosy Christmas gift for a loved one, or treating yourself whilst treating Wilbur, you are donating £3 towards his care, and future rescues of Rainbow Bridge Equine Rescue.
.
If you would prefer not to purchase a hat but still want to donate to Wilbur's cause, you can make a donation to the charity directly via Paypal, just send your money to rainbowbridgeequinerescue@yahoo.co.uk or message them via their Facebook page for bank details if you would prefer to transfer.
A huge thank you in advance from us, Rainbow Bridge, but most importantly Wilbur for your kindness... we will keep you updated when we can, however for the most regular updates, make sure you are following Rainbow Bridge Equine Rescue's Facebook page
